What if borrowing was just as easy as buying?

Reduce your impact

Every borrowed item is one less thing bought, stored, or tossed. Borrow’d helps shrink waste and emissions—one shared ladder at a time.

Strengthen connections

Borrowing builds more than convenience—it builds trust. From folding chairs to kayaks, sharing helps us connect over the stuff we only need sometimes.

Do more with less

That item you need for your next project? It’s probably a few doors down. Borrowing keeps things moving—and out of the landfill.

What can you borrow?

Turns out, a lot. From tools to tents, the things we borrow help us host, fix, create, and explore—without the extra cost or clutter.

Tools & hardware

Drills, ladders, wrenches—sometimes your project just needs a little help (not a whole trip to the store).

Event & party supplies

Folding chairs, coolers, Halloween costumes—make it a celebration without adding to your closet.

Gardening & yard

Pruners, wheelbarrows, pressure washers—because not everything needs to live in your shed full-time.

Sports & adventure

Tents, kayaks, backpacks—gear up your friends for fun while you take a well-earned break.

Home & kitchen

Mixing bowls, steamers, ironing boards—give someone a hand with their next dinner party or big moment.

Books, games & media

The novel you just finished or a board game you love—pass it on and keep the joy in motion.

FAQ

What is Borrow’d?

Borrow’d is a community-powered platform that helps friends and neighbors share useful things—so we can all do more with what we already have. We’re building it together as a registered nonprofit, guided by a shared purpose to waste less and share more.

How does it work?

You create or join a group made up of people you know—friends, neighbors, coworkers, fellow members of your community. You decide what to share and with whom. In return, you get access to a library of items that your groups share with you.

Is it safe?

We are designing Borrow’d with a strong focus on trust and safety, beginning with our core feature: helping you share with groups of people you already know and trust in your life.

It’s always your choice to share, and we’ve made it easy to set boundaries—like saying “no” without awkwardness. When people feel safe, sharing works better for everyone.

What if something gets damaged or lost?

We get it—things happen. Borrowers are expected to return items in the same (or better) condition, and to make it right if something goes wrong. While we expect users to adhere to our Code of Conduct, we recommend lending only to people you trust. Better tools for resolution and accountability are on the way.

Why a closed beta?

Starting small helps us build Borrow’d with care. It lets us listen, improve, and grow the platform with real communities before opening the doors wider.

Who can join?

We’re beginning with a few local hubs and growing from there. We’re prioritizing places where we can partner with tool libraries, mutual aid groups, and other aligned communities. If you’re interested, we’d love to hear from you.

Is it free?

Yes! Borrow’d is a nonprofit, community-first platform. There are no fees, no subscriptions, and no hidden costs—just neighbors helping neighbors.

How can I help?

Lend an item. Start a group. Spread the word. Or pitch in behind the scenes. Borrow’d is built by community, for community—and we’d love to have you shaping what comes next.

Let’s make borrowing the new normal

Join early access and help shape the future of Borrow’d. We’re launching in a few pilot communities—yours could be next.
